From simply observing the class materials of other teachers in the school, they all appear to follow closely to textbooks but I will have to ask to see if the other teachers also follow these so closely. I think you are right that it also may be different in the elementary school aged group, and I can try to find out about that as well. I think in elementary school, even in the US, you are given a little more freedom to choose which types of activities you would like and how to engage the younger students. As I begin to teach more lessons I am finding out how the book is more adapted to what works best for the class, I was just so surprised when I first realized that almost everything was taken from the book!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09386225882165869467noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5428841094562870191.post-77199856089578979332016-10-25T09:20:59.727-04:002016-10-25T09:20:59.727-04:00Hi Keanna! It’s interesting that the teachers teach so much from workbooks, do you know if they do that in other subjects too? Or is it just in English class? I agree that in the US it seems like teachers take from multiple different sources for each lesson, but maybe that’s just in elementary school. Hope you enjoy getting a chance to teach lessons- it sounds like it will be a really cool experience in teaching bilingually!Maeve Reynoldshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02758494379826124978noreply@blogger.com
